EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP

DAVID BUNGE, President

Azimuth Renewables is led by David Bunge. He has been active in developing utility-scale solar projects since 2007. David has directly developed over 100MW of utility-scale solar projects throughout the United States. Many of these projects have been some of the first utility-scale projects deployed in markets such as Oregon, Missouri and Indiana. David has successfully negotiated PPAs with utilities across the country including Duke Energy, Pacificorp, Dominion (formerly South Carolina Gas & Electric), and Intermountain Rural Electric.

Prior to joining Azimuth Renewables, David served as Vice President of Strategic Development for Cypress Creek Renewables (CCR) from 2014-2019. In this role, David was instrumental in CCRs deployment of over 1.5GW of solar. David has also managed his own development company and served in senior leadership roles throughout the solar industry.

David has extensive business development experience in the solar industry and holds an MBA from NC State University and a B.A. in History from Davidson College.

ETHAN CASE, Vice President of Development

Ethan has worked in clean energy strategy, policy, and development roles for 10 years. He began his career with an energy policy focus and spent two years working on US Department of Energy clean energy contracts at the North Carolina Clean Technology Center based within North Carolina State University. He shifted to the private sector in 2016 and has since worked for and consulted with multiple renewable energy firms, including Cypress Creek Renewables. Ethan has served on multiple solar trade association boards and in elected industry leadership roles.

He earned his BA from Davidson College and a Masters of Environmental Management with an energy concentration from Duke University. Ethan currently lives in Durham, North Carolina and manages the Carolinas team.

TOM CHILES, Project Developer

Tom started his energy career in 2010 as a Public Utility Specialist for the United States General Services Administration, as a technical contracting specialist of bulk electricity purchases and energy management programs for the federal government’s nationwide building portfolio. In 2014 Tom was tapped to join the team implementing President Obama’s Executive Order 13514, requiring federal agencies to incorporate renewable energy into their electricity consumption. This resulted in signing over 200MW of wind and solar energy from new generation sources. Wanting to join the world of solar development, Tom next went to work in the field as a construction foreman, to learn the solar business literally from the ground up. He spent the next several years traveling around the country supervising the construction of solar systems up to 126MW. After cutting his teeth in the field, Azimuth Renewables was the ideal home to apply his rich and varied experience to development, in the hopes of having maximum impact on furthering the country’s energy transition towards renewables.

ZACHARY KELLEY, Project Developer

Zach joined the Azimuth Renewables team in 2023. Zach leverages his previous experience in private equity and his background in hospitality to bring a unique perspective to the Project Developer role. In this role, Zach contributes to the development of sustainable solar energy solutions that will have a positive impact on our planet.
